The Sindh High Court’s constitutional bench granted bail to Sahhar Hasan, son of renowned television actor Sajid Hasan, in a narcotics case involving over half a kilogram of cannabis.

The court approved Sahhar’s bail against surety bonds worth Rs1 million and issued his release orders.

His counsel argued during the hearing that the accused had already spent over two months in jail under judicial remand, making a strong case for his release on bail.

The bail plea had earlier been referred to the constitutional bench for jurisdictional review by a larger bench of the court. Sahhar Hasan was initially arrested after 557 grams of weed were allegedly recovered from his possession.

However, the case has since taken a more serious turn, with connections being drawn to the high-profile murder investigation of Mustafa Amir. According to police sources, Sahhar Hasan is now also being probed for his alleged involvement in a broader drug network.

Investigators claim that Sahhar was not only a habitual user of cannabis but also cultivated the drug at his residence. Authorities have now added his manager, Mir Mukarram Ali, to the investigation, alleging that illegal drug-related funds were funneled through Ali’s bank account.

Law enforcement agencies have begun reviewing Mukarram Ali’s financial records and are compiling a list of additional suspects linked to the illegal drug trade. The police say they are developing a strategy to dismantle the network.

In a startling revelation during interrogation, Sahhar reportedly admitted that his father, Sajid Hasan, was aware of his drug use. While there has been no official comment from the veteran actor, the case continues to attract intense media and public scrutiny.
