Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Manzar Ali Gul heard extortion case of two police men who used the name of CCD to mint money from civilians, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
ATC judge seeks arguments over bail plea of accused constable Aftab on next hearing and later put off the hearing till May 6.
According to the victims, accused Rehmat Ali is an Assistant Sub-Inspector and Aftab is a Police Constable. The main accused Rehmat Ali's bail application has been rejected. The other accused include Yousuf, Sajid Ali, Khursheed Ahmed and Rafiq. A case was registered against the accused on the complaint of CCD Sub-Inspector Rana Kashif.
The accused policeman presented himself as an official of CCD Nawan Kot and kidnapped four citizens and demanded a ransom of Rs1 million.
The accused threatened citizens that if they did not pay Rs 1 million, they (CCD) would kill them in a police encounter. The abductees include Abdul Sattar, Aamir Bashir, Qamar Bashir and Allah Rakha. The accused had tied the abductees with ropes. The accused police constable had kidnapped the four citizens from their house in Talat Park, Sherakot.
The victim told the court that the accused took Rs 260,000 in cash, four mobile phones and other items from their house. The accused demanded ransom in the name of CCD. Investigation officer told the court that the accused defamed CCD.
