A newly renovated paediatric ward was inaugurated at Data Darbar Hospital, Lahore, on Friday, 24NewsHD TV reported.

Punjab’s Secretary Auqaf, Dr Ehsan Bhutta, formally opened the upgraded ward, accompanied by senior officials, including Director Projects Rafiq Noor Wattoo, Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Latif, and Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Javed Malik, along with other senior doctors and departmental representatives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Bhutta said providing modern and quality healthcare services remained a top priority for the Punjab Auqaf Department.

“The new ward has been designed to ensure better care and comfort for children,” he said, adding that efforts were underway to transform Data Darbar Hospital into a modern healthcare facility.

Officials said the initiative is also aimed at ensuring quality medical services for pilgrims travelling from remote areas to the shrine.

In addition to the paediatric ward, authorities confirmed that a medical ward at the hospital has also been made operational as part of broader upgrades to expand patient care capacity.
