A woman died allegedly by suicide after consuming wheat pills that she administered to her two minor children, too, one of whom also breathed her last.
The second child is stated to be in critical condition in Bahawalpur, rescue officials said on Saturday.
Officials said the mother and her toddler daughter died on the spot, while a four-year-old boy was shifted to the hospital in critical condition for treatment.
Police said initial reports suggested the incident was triggered by a domestic dispute.
Further investigation is underway.
