Ex-PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry, who had announced he was going to start a campaign along with ex-Sindh governor Imran Ismael and another former PTI leader Asad Umar for the release of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, now finds himself alone as senior leadership of the PTI has said it has nothing to do with his movement, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Quoting its sources, 24News TV channel reported that Fawad had a meeting with Imran during the hearings of one of his cases after which he made the announcement.
Fawad, they added, pretended as if he enjoyed the backing of the incarcerated PTI founder.
Ex-PTI leader had also announced that he would hold meetings with federal ministers for the purpose.
However, at the very start, Asad said he would not become part of any movement under Fawad. “I am ready to join any movement for the release of my leader, but not under Fawad,” he added.
Meanwhile, senior PTI leaders have said that things are not so bad for Imran that he would have to ask Fawad to run the campaign for his release.
