A Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) official was killed after being hit by a dumper truck near Malir Cantt Check Post No 60 late Saturday night, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Ayub, an FIA employee who had just completed his duty at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport and was returning home when the incident occurred.
Police officials said Ayub was riding his motorcycle when a speeding dumper truck struck him, leaving him critically injured. Rescue teams rushed him to Jinnah Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Law enforcement authorities have taken the dumper driver, identified as Anwar Khan, into custody. Initial investigations revealed that the driver’s license had expired two weeks ago, police said.
“The driver has been arrested, and further investigation into the incident is under way,” a police spokesperson added.
