The Punjab government has introduced a mobile police station in Lodhran to bring law enforcement and licensing services directly to citizens, particularly women and residents of rural areas, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
The project, formally inaugurated by District Police Officer (DPO) Captain (Retd) Ali bin Tariq, aims to ensure greater accessibility, convenience, and safety for the public.
Speaking at the launch, the DPO described the initiative as “a revolutionary step in citizen facilitation and public outreach.”
He said the establishment of the modern mobile police station and licensing unit marked a significant milestone in the digital transformation of Punjab Police services.
The mobile unit will enable on-the-spot registration of First Information Reports (FIRs) and provide facilities such as e-licensing, biometric verification, and other digital services.
According to the DPO, citizens will now be able to obtain learner, regular, renewal, international, and women’s driving licences directly through the mobile unit.
The facility will visit educational institutions, workplaces, and suburban communities, ensuring decentralized delivery of police services across Lodhran district.
Officials said the initiative was part of the Punjab government’s broader effort to modernize policing and improve citizen experience, especially in remote and under-served areas.
