Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that those who are talking of dividing Punjab into North and South are not our friends and she wants to keep Punjab as one unit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a ceremony in honour of position-holder students at University of Home Economics in Lahore on Thursday, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said a full stop has been put on mismanagement and merit violations.
Today, positions are not sold in educational institutions of the province, nor is there any violation of merit, she added.
Maryam said those who talk against Punjab are not anyone's well-wishers and there is no division in her mind.
Talking about resources of provinces, Maryam Nawaz said no one has more or less, everyone has equal resources. Maryam Nawaz said 90,000 houses are being built evenly across Punjab.
In Punjab, contracts were given on the basis of affiliation in the last four years and they cancelled all contracts received through political influence, Maryam said.
She said “I am going to big cities after giving share to small cities.”
The rescue operation in Punjab's historic floods was also historic, Maryam said and added “If we complete our five years, Punjab will be a highly developed province.”
Those who encourage violence cannot be your friends, Maryam said.
“Maryam Nawaz is the protector of Punjab, the protector of the people's self-respect as well,” the chief minister said.
Maryam will never make her people suffer, she said.
Maryam said position-holder students brought glory to the country, saying the teachers and parents of position-holder students also deserve congratulations.
A country with so many toppers cannot decline, Maryam said.
She said as many as 80,000 students are studying on scholarships in Punjab.
There is no dearth of talent among Pakistani youth, Maryam Nawaz said.
She said government is also giving laptops to talented students.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said children from small homes have big dreams.
Young students, parents and teachers used to work hard to fulfill their dreams, but nepotism used to get in the way and this culture has been eliminated, Maryam Nawaz said.
If I want to appoint a Commissioner, Deputy, Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, DPO, Secretary or Vice Chancellor and other officers, I interview them myself, Maryam Nawaz further said.
She said if the path of merit is not opened today, the development of all children will be hindered.
Maryam Nawaz said she wants to convert all government schools in the province into quality schools and a child who goes to a government school, university or college can get a better education than a private one.
Chief Minister said she instructed the Provincial Education Minister to implement the KPI system in all educational institutions.
A Center of Excellence School has been built in Chakwal in a short period of a few months, Maryam Nawaz said.
She said the Center of Excellence is not just a good building, but a good environment, good education, good teachers are being provided.
