Three notorious dacoits were gunned down and five were arrested in police encounters in Burewala, Larkana, and Khairpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
In the first police encounter, which took place in the jurisdiction of Gaggo Mandi Police Station Burewala two dacoits were killed.
Both dacoits were identified as Abu Bakr and Umar, who were residents of Mammu Kanjan.
The Crime Control Department (CCD) team said that both dacoits died in the firing of their accomplices.
The CCD police said that both dacoits were involved in serious criminal cases, including dacoity, snatching, and murder.
The second police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Hyderi Police Station, Larkana in which one dacoit was killed. The dead dacoit was identified as Ashiq Ali Bhutto.
The dead dacoit was involved in the gruesome murder of a youngster Ahmad Ai Bhatti. The dacoit also snatched his motorcycle.
Police also recovered arms and a snatched motorcycle from his possession.
Five dacoits were arrested in an injured condition during a police encounter in Khairpur.
Police received credible information that some dacoits were busy looting people after placing barricades on the road.
After taking notice of the police party, the dacoits started firing, during which five dacoits became seriously injured.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Khairpur said that all the arrested dacoits are members of a dacoity group who committed robbery, snatching, car lifting, and kidnapping for ransom incidents.
The arrested dacoits were identified as Yasir Ali, Ali Zaman, Farman Malik, and others.
