Six soldiers of Pakistan's armed forces were martyred and five militants were killed when Indian sponsored terrorists targeted the Federal Constabulary Headquarters in Bannu District on Tuesday.

According to details, the attack by the Khwarij belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij came in early hours of September 2.

The Indian sponsored Khwarij attempted to breach the perimeter security. However, the troops swiftly foiled the attack. In desperation, the Khwarij rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall. The suicide blast resulted in the partial collapse of the perimeter wall and damage to adjacent civilian infrastructure, inflicting injuries to three innocent civilians.

The troops engaged the Khwarij with precision and eliminated all five of them. However, in this intense exchange of fire, six soldiers of the Federal Constabulary and Pakistan Army were martyred. They put up a heroic fight before they embraced martyrdom in the line of duty. A clearance operation in the area would continue and perpetrators of this attack would be brought to justice.

President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the Indian-sponsored terrorist attack on Federal Constabulary Headquarters in Bannu and paid tributes to the martyrs who foiled the nefarious designs of the terrorists. The president prayed for the high ranks of the martyrs and recovery of the injured people. The president said the nation salutes the sacrifices of its brave soldiers and citizens.
