Lahore Qalandars defeated Multan Sultans by 20 runs in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11 encounter at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Friday, 24NewsHD TV reported.
Chasing a target of 186, Multan Sultans were restricted to 165 for five in their 20 overs.
Ashton Turner top-scored for Multan with 52 runs, while Shan Masood made 44.
Arafat Minhas contributed 25, and Sahibzada Farhan added 24, but the visitors were unable to keep pace with the required run rate.
For Lahore Qalandars, Mustafizur Rahman claimed two wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sikandar Raza, and Obaid Ur Rehman took one wicket each.
The defeat was Multan Sultans’ first of the tournament, while Lahore Qalandars moved closer to the leading pack in the standings with their second victory of the campaign.
Karachi Kings remained top of the table with six points.
After being asked to bat first, Lahore Qalandars scored 185 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 13 overs.
The match was reduced to 13 overs a side due to rain.
Mohammad Naeem top-scored with 60 runs, while Pervaiz Hussain Iman contributed 45 runs and Abdullah Shafiq added 33 runs.
For Multan Sultans, Mohammad Ismail took two wickets, while Faisal Akram and Peter Siddle claimed one wicket each.
Earlier intermittent showers in and around the stadium left the pitch and outfield unsuitable for the scheduled start of play.
However, the officials succeeded in making the ground suitable for playing after plenty of activity.
Notably, Ashton Turner-led Multan Sultans have enjoyed a strong start to their campaign, sitting second on the points table with two wins from two matches.
In contrast, Shaheen Shah Afridi’s Lahore Qalandars find themselves in the fifth position with one win and one loss.
