Juggun Kazim has made an impassioned plea to netizens to stop trolling celebrities, especially amid the ongoing backlash faced by Alizeh Shah.
In a video posted to her YouTube channel titled “Why Can’t We Stop Trolling?”, Juggun addressed the online hate culture, reflecting on her own recent reconciliation with Alizeh.
“Even though Alizeh and I have settled our differences, the sad thing is that the trolling is still ongoing,” said Juggun.
“What is our problem as a nation, as human beings? Why do we find comfort in inflicting pain on others?”
The video comes days after Juggun publicly apologised to Alizeh Shah for previously humiliating her in a manner that caused emotional distress.
While the apology was well-received by many, Juggun revealed that she also encountered a fresh wave of negative comments criticising the sincerity and relevance of her gesture.
“I thought this was the best way of dealing with the matter. A person makes a mistake, and they apologise.
Why has this become such a big deal?” she asked.
“Why are people still going on social media and discussing whether or not it was the right thing to do?”
Juggun clarified that she would not share private messages or screenshots from her conversation with Alizeh, despite repeated requests from followers.
She emphasised that such discussions were personal and should remain that way, noting that the focus should be on healing and moving forward, not sensationalism.
What struck an even deeper chord in her message was her defence of Alizeh Shah, who has been in the news recently for her alleged on-set altercation with actress Minsa Malik, ongoing media bullying, and a defamation suit filed days ago.
“Alizeh is upset. Her heart is broken,” said Juggun. “She’s a young person dealing with memories of being mistreated in the industry of which I, too, played a part. She’s dealing with PTSD. Instead of giving her support, we choose to mock her. Please, guys, stop trolling her.”
Calling the culture of online hate toxic and harmful, Juggun questioned the obsession with tearing public figures down. “Is insulting celebrities our only entertainment left?” she asked. “How much free time do people have that they follow someone just to leave cruel comments on their posts?”
Juggun ended her video with a heartfelt message: “If we don’t protect our own people, who will?”
