The Sindh Government is swiftly executing multiple projects in Malir, with Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani inaugurating the Malir Union Football Stadium on Sunday.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, during the ceremony, Ghani hoisted the national flag and announced three additional projects soon to be completed under the CLICK Program – a new football ground, an Apex Education Centre, and a community centre.
He proudly noted that Malir had delivered the most seats to PPP in the previous election, and the party is committed to rewarding the district with visible development.
Bhutto Highway Declared a Game Changer for Karachi
Saeed Ghani called the Shahrah-e-Bhutto Project, a 45-kilometre highway, a transformative step for Karachi.
The road will connect four districts and is expected to be completed by December. Additionally, expansion work on the Quaidabad Bridge is also underway to improve traffic flow.
The minister also emphasised the importance of the K-IV water supply project, which will be executed in three phases to provide 660 million gallons per day (MGD) of water to the city.
“This is not just a pipeline; it's the lifeline of Karachi,” said Ghani, adding that cost increases are due to project improvements.
He further revealed plans to upgrade the water supply from Hub Canal from the current 60 MGD to 200 MGD.
Saeed Ghani announced two major upcoming events, including a grand concert at National Stadium on August 13, with no political flags allowed, and a mushaira (poetry event) at Expo Centre on August 9.
