Veteran Pakistani actress Mishi Khan has strongly criticised comedian and television host Tabish Hashmi, accusing him of using the sensitive issue as a publicity tool for his show ‘Hasna Mana Hai’.
Taking to her Instagram, the actress shared a video featuring herself called out both Tabish and his marketing team, saying such a strategy was unacceptable.
Sharing her thoughts in a video, Mishi did not hold back. She said, "Shame on such a mentality where you use such a sensitive issue for your show's publicity. Shame on you and your team's mentality."
She further questioned why a serious national issue was allegedly used to generate online attention, adding that the entire campaign appeared to be aimed at making the show trend simply because its set had changed.
Referring to Tabish's earlier post, she said he deliberately hinted at facing consequences after speaking on Kashmir, only to later reveal that it was linked to a change in the show's set.
The controversy began after Tabish Hashmi shared a video about the Kashmir issue, ending it by saying, "I don't know what the consequences of this will be," leading many to believe he could face repercussions.
A day later, he posted a farewell-style message about ‘Hasna Mana Hai’, prompting speculation that the show had been taken off air.
He later clarified that the show was not ending and explained that the post was simply about introducing a new set and was intended as a prank.
His explanation, however, did little to calm the criticism. Many social media users accused him of exploiting a sensitive issue for publicity.
One user commented, "So he used Kashmir and people's emotions to promote his lewd crass show? That was a low blow Tabish! Do better."
Meanwhile, Mishi Khan's response received widespread praise, with many applauding her for speaking out.
One follower wrote, "Hatts off Mishi Khan, always speak up the truth," while others echoed her concerns, saying public figures should avoid using emotionally charged national issues as marketing tactics.
