Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has greeted the people of Kashmir and announced that he will address a public rally in Bagh district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In a video message released on Monday, Bilawal said the countdown to the federal government had begun and announced his visit to Poonch, urging party workers and supporters to prepare for the upcoming rally. “I am coming to Poonch. You should be ready,” Bilawal said, adding that he would hold a rally in Bagh.
The PPP chairman paid tribute to the people of Kashmir, saying he saluted their courage and determination. He alleged that the recent elections were not fair and transparent, claiming they were “rigged elections” and accusing opponents of using intimidation and violence.
Bilawal said PPP workers faced difficulties during the election campaign, adding that party workers embraced martyrdom, a party MNA was shot in the hand and the president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir was attacked.
“Despite all this, you did not lose courage and you did not step back,” he said, adding that the people showed the world how the PPP struggles for the rights of Kashmiris, including their sovereignty, property rights and employment.
The PPP chairman claimed that despite irregularities, his party won nine electoral seats. He said the seats “stolen” from PPP in Mirpur and Muzaffarabad would be recovered.
Bilawal urged supporters to ensure the victory of PPP candidates Bazil Naqvi and Javed Ayub from Muzaffarabad on August 4, saying the “conspiracy of the Muslim League-N” must be defeated.
He announced that August 10 would be the turn of Poonch, where he would address a public gathering in Bagh.
“The Pakistan People's Party does not lose courage, we do not step back and we never leave the field,” Bilawal said, calling on party workers to prepare for the upcoming rally.
