Police have arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police, Imran Anwar, for sexually abusing a woman in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
According to details, Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza took immediate notice of the incident and directed stern action against the ASI.
He also suspended the Incharge Investigation, Ghaziabad Police Station, due to poor investigation.
DIG Zeeshan Raza directed that an inquiry should be made on an impartial and merit basis. The ASI was performing his duty in the Ghaziabad Police Station Investigation Branch.
The DIG said that those who were involved in abusing the woman will be dealt with an iron hand.
