2,600 Punjab policemen challaned for traffic rules violations

No one is above the law as traffic challans have been issued to 2600 police personnel in 6 days in Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday. 

According to spokesperson, 434 police personnel's vehicles impounded for traffic violations and cases registered against 10 police personnel for serious traffic violations. 

Heavy fines have been imposed on more than 500 other government vehicles while 312 government vehicles impounded under zero tolerance policy and FIRs have been registered against five government drivers. 

DIG Traffic Punjab said no one driving in the province is above the law.

DIG said on the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, they are ensuring 100 percent implementation of traffic laws.
