An armed man was taken into custody near Aleema Khan in Rawalpindi, with police terming the incident a serious security breach.
According to police officials, Aleema Khanum was informed about the situation after the suspect was detained in her vicinity. “This armed man was near you — what a big security breach,” police told her.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Saddar Baruni stated that the detained individual was found carrying cards and a licenced pistol.
However, women associated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) present at the scene rejected the claim, saying, “He must be your man.”
Police identified the suspect as Arif Chattha, a resident of Multan. A licensed pistol was recovered from his possession at the time of arrest.
Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly, Moin Qureshi, was called to identify the suspect. He informed the police that he did not know the person.
