Veteran Pakistani television actor Asma Abbas has publicly lashed out at social media platforms and content creators for what she described as a deliberate and malicious distortion of her sister Bushra Ansari’s comments about actor Feroze Khan.
Asma, widely respected for her work in acclaimed dramas such as Dumpukht, Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, and Chupke Chupke, took to social media to express her outrage over false narratives circulating online that linked Bushra Ansari and Feroze Khan in a sensational and inappropriate manner.
She clarified that Bushra’s original remarks were warm, respectful, and entirely innocent. Bushra had merely spoken about her professional experience working with Feroze Khan for the first time and how their bond evolved naturally on set.
Her actual words were:
"I worked with Feroze Khan for the first time. Initially, he was a bit shy and reserved, but later, we developed a great bond. Now, he hugs me and says, ‘You’re so sweet, I can’t live without you.’ We have a loving relationship, just like that."
However, according to Asma Abbas, social media pages and viral posts grossly twisted this statement, falsely claiming that Feroze Khan had professed romantic love for Bushra Ansari and even wanted to marry her, claims Asma categorically rejected.
Addressing the issue head-on, Asma said she was shocked and angered by how far people were willing to go for attention.
She added that Bushra had simply described a warm, affectionate, almost family-like working relationship.
Referring to the fabricated narratives she encountered online, Asma explained:
"This is true, we are loving like that. However, she was once again misquoted by social media. I read somewhere on TikTok that Feroze Khan said he loves Bushra Ansari, can’t live without her, and wants to marry her."
Her frustration escalated as she questioned the ethics and mindset of those responsible for spreading such claims. In a strongly worded response, Asma Abbas said:
"There is an evilness in their brains. How can they write such false statements? How do they sleep at night? Aren’t they worried about the consequences?"
She emphasized that the distortion of Bushra Ansari’s words deeply upset her and reflected a troubling culture of sensationalism, where truth and dignity are sacrificed for clicks, views, and viral traction. Asma accused such pages of manufacturing controversy without considering the emotional and reputational damage caused to the people involved.
The misleading claims reportedly gained further traction on platforms like TikTok, where edited clips and exaggerated captions fueled public speculation and debate. The incident has since sparked broader conversations online about irresponsible digital journalism and the urgent need for ethical standards in social media reporting.
Meanwhile, the controversy unfolded against the backdrop of unrelated but recent attention surrounding Feroze Khan’s personal life.
Earlier, his current wife, Syeda Zainab, and his ex-wife, Aliza Sultan, were involved in a public disagreement on Instagram after Sultan posted a request asking Feroze to provide winter clothing and uniforms for their child, a post that was later deleted.
Despite the surrounding noise, Asma Abbas made it clear that her primary concern was protecting her sister from baseless rumors and calling out what she sees as a dangerous trend of scandal-driven misinformation.
