Former international squash champion Jahangir Khan has said that the International Squash Championship will be played from January 6, 2026, in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Saturday, Jahangir Khan and Adnan Asad said that the total amount of the tournament is $245,000 and this event is approved by the Pakistan Squash Association (PSA).
Adnan Asad said that the Sindh government is extending full support for holding the mega event, and renowned squash players will participate in the tournament.
He said that the International Squash Federation has agreed to host the event, while all facilities will be provided to foreign players. Adnan Asad said that facilities in the Squash Complex are also better.
Ex-squash champion Jahangir Khan said that the soft image of Pakistan will be highlighted globally by holding a mega event.
Jahangir Khan said that people did not believe that an event carrying dollars 2,50,000 money would be held in Pakistan.
He said that Hamza Khan and Noor Zaman will be the top seeds. He said that there is no rocket science required only hard work will bring positive results.
He said that Egyptian players were working hard for the event, and they wanted to play in Pakistan.
Jahangir Khan said that even today, Pakistan is on the top in the World Squad and there are no security concerns in Pakistan.
