After the closure of M2 Motorway, authorities have shut down M3 Motorway for large vehicles because of dense fog, officials said on Saturday.
According to a spokesperson for the Central Region Motorway Police, Motorway M3 has been closed for heavy traffic from Faizpur to Darkhana to prevent accidents caused by poor visibility. The decision was taken as thick fog significantly reduced visibility in the area, posing risks to commuters.
Also on Saturday, M4 Motorway was closed from Pindi Bhattian to Gojra and Khanewal to Multan due to fog.
Earlier, M2 Motorway was closed under similar conditions, highlighting the ongoing impact of fog on road travel across Punjab.
Motorway Police have advised drivers, especially those operating large vehicles, to avoid unnecessary travel, use fog lights, maintain safe distances, and stay updated on road conditions before starting their journeys.
Authorities said the motorway will be reopened once visibility improves and conditions become safe for travel.
