The Punjab government has approved the establishment of Strike Enforcement Stations under the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA), 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.
Under the new framework, the PERA Strike Force will be deployed for immediate response operations across Punjab.
The strike units will provide operational support to key provincial bodies, including the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), and Regional Transport Authorities (RTAs).
Sources said that the PERA Strike Enforcement Stations will have jurisdiction across the entire province, allowing the force to act swiftly against violations without geographical limitations.
To facilitate this expansion of powers, the Punjab government has also approved amendments to the PERA Act 2024, legally empowering the authority to carry out enhanced enforcement actions.
Under the amended law, the PERA force will be authorized to take action against tax defaulters, illegal private housing societies, and transport operators violating regulations.
The move is aimed at curbing regulatory breaches and improving governance through stronger enforcement mechanisms.
