District and Session Court in Jacobabad has handed down death sentences to two brothers in honor killing case here on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
The convicts had gunned down their niece Fatima and her alleged paramour Mughim on May 4, 2024. District and Sessions Judge Syed Sharafuddin Shah sentenced the accused Lal Gul and Lal Bakhsh Bledi to death for double murder. The accused had killed his niece Fatima and young Mughim Bledi within the limits of Garhi Khairo police station.
Both the accused were also sentenced to an additional seven years in prison for possessing weapons without a license. The court also imposed a fine of five lakh rupees on both the accused. In case of failure to pay the fine, they will have to serve another five months in prison.
A case was registered against two brothers and their father by the government on the complaint of HC Mumtaz Ali Leghari. The police arrested two accused, Lal Gul and Lal Bakhsh, while the father of the victim, Lal Jan, was declared absconder.
