In a joint intelligence-based operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and local police in Charsadda, two notorious target killers wanted in multiple high-profile cases were gunned down, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
According to police sources, the slain suspects were also involved in the murder of police constable Farooq.
As per the channel report, the successful raid was carried out on Ghani Khan Road following a tip-off about the suspects’ presence in the area.
Police sources confirmed that the operation targeted individuals involved in murder, attempted murder, and acts of terrorism.
This is not the first time CTD has taken down dangerous individuals in the region. Just three months ago, two other terrorists were killed in a similar intelligence-led operation.
Both of those men were involved in an attack on Constable Arman Khan, and one of them was identified as Hakimullah, also known by the alias Shoaib, the Deputy Ameer of the Ibrahim Zarar Group.
In that operation, Charsadda police were able to track and eliminate the attackers within a few hours. The swift response also led to the killing of one of the region’s most wanted terrorists, Javed Khan, son of Muhammad Ikhtiar, a resident of Akhundan Noor in Bannu.
Charsadda, the district headquarters located about 29 kilometres from Peshawar, has been a focal point in the fight against terrorism in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
