The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unanimously approved a budget estimate of Rs18.3 billion for the financial year 2025–26 during its 78th Board of Governors meeting held on July 3 at the National Cricket Academy, Lahore.
The meeting was chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, with key officials and board members in attendance both physically and via video link.
Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza presented a detailed briefing on the major features of the upcoming year’s budget.
The Board expressed satisfaction with the financial performance of the previous fiscal year (2024–25) and ratified the decisions taken in the last meeting.
A key development was the decision to incentivise regional performance, with the best-performing cricket region each year to receive special recognition and rewards as part of the PCB’s strategy to promote domestic cricket.
In a push for efficiency and accountability, the board also agreed to regularly monitor staff performance across all departments.
The meeting concluded with prayers offered by Board Member Anwar Ghani. Notable attendees included former cricketer Zaheer Abbas, Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed, PSL CEO Salman Naseer, and Head of Women’s Cricket Rafia Haider. Additional members participated via video link, including Director of International Cricket Usman Wahla.
