A senior Pakistani security official on Friday held an important briefing with media influencers on issues related to India and regional security and said India is bent on fomenting instability across the entire region, particularly in Pakistan, to divert attention from its internal problems.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the security official said that Indian leadership continues to ignore ground realities. India is a Hindutva-driven failed state, but it has developed a habit of portraying itself as a major power.
The security sources said the session highlighted concerns that India attempts to divert international attention from its internal political and social challenges by linking various incidents to Pakistan and promoting what were described as false narratives.
Security sources said India was facing a range of domestic issues and was seeking to shift attention away from them by creating instability in the region, particularly targeting Pakistan through political and media campaigns.
The briefing was told that elements within India view a stable, prosperous and moderate Pakistan as a strategic challenge. According to the sources, sections of the Indian political and media landscape remain focused on shaping narratives against Pakistan and its armed forces.
Security sources further argued that rising intolerance and religious extremism have contributed to growing internal challenges within India. They maintained that ideological trends associated with Hindutva have altered the country’s secular image and influenced its political discourse.
The participants were also briefed on concerns relating to minority rights, freedom of expression and press freedom in India. Security sources claimed that social divisions and discrimination against minorities could create further challenges for Indian society in the future.
Referring to Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the sources said the territory remains heavily militarised and that the local population continues to face significant restrictions.
The briefing also touched on security concerns regarding groups allegedly pursuing agendas contrary to Pakistan’s national interests. Security sources reiterated that Pakistan and its people would continue to defend the country's sovereignty and national interests.
