Preparations for Pakistan’s white-ball season are gaining momentum as top-performing players have begun reporting to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, sources revealed on Tuesday.
According to insiders, seven players reported on the first day, including big names like Babar Azam, Usman Khan, Saud Shakeel, Shahid Aziz, Abbas Afridi, Salman Mirza, and Mir Hamza.
Newly-appointed head coach Mike Hesson personally met each player in one-on-one sessions, during which he discussed their past performances, future goals, and expectations moving forward, sources said.
“Mike Hesson laid out a structured plan for each player,” a source shared. “The meetings were both performance-based and forward-looking.”
In addition to the strategic discussions, players will undergo a performance test at the LCCA Ground, aimed at assessing their current fitness and form levels.
More reinforcements are on the way, with two additional groups of players scheduled to report to the NCA over the next two days.
