Election activity in Gilgit-Baltistan has intensified as major political parties continue their campaigns ahead of the upcoming assembly polls scheduled for 7 June, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, along with his sister Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, is scheduled to visit Gilgit and Hunza today as part of the party’s election campaign.
During the visit, Bilawal Bhutto is expected to address a public gathering in Hunza and hold meetings with party ticket holders in Gilgit.
Meanwhile, leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, including Federal Minister Amir Muqam and former minister Abid Sher Ali, are set to address rallies at four different locations across the region, stepping up efforts to secure voter support.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is also active in its campaign. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan is currently engaged in political activities in Skardu and other districts, addressing supporters and participating in campaign events.
With all major political parties intensifying their efforts, the election atmosphere across Gilgit-Baltistan has become increasingly competitive as polling day approaches.
The voting for the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly is scheduled to take place on 7 June, with political parties making final attempts to strengthen their positions in key constituencies.
