The Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Wednesday termed reports of its database being hacked and leakage of its data ‘false, misleading and unfounded’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The HEC spokesman said that the commission’s Cyber Security Operation Center had completed investigation into the data circulating on social media, and found out that it was not part of the HEC’s degree attestation and verification system, and it had nothing to do with the commission’s database.
The HEC appealed to people to refrain from spreading false information on social media without verifying them.
It categorically announced that its database and degree verification system were completely secure.
