A policeman seeking a hitchhike to get home early was crushed to death in a hit-and-run incident on Lahore’s Ring Road on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The terrible accident occurred at Halloki Interchange where the off-duty cop was waiting for a ride to reach home when a rashly-driven car crushed him badly at Halloki Interchange and he died.
Constable Akhtar Hussain was a resident of Pattoki and was performing his duty at the residence of Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) Hammad.
Soon after the incident local police reached the area and shifted the dead body of the policeman to a local hospital mortuary.
Earlier on February 11, 2025 an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the police has died due to alleged assault by lawyers in the Mozang area of Lahore.
ASI Shahid and police constable Jameel had gone to arrest a wanted criminal near Jain Mandir when, during the arrest, the lawyers allegedly attacked them.
The police stated that ASI Shahid's condition deteriorated due to the alleged assault by the lawyers, and he passed away after being taken to the hospital.
