The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Monday predicted heavy rains and snowfall during next 24 hours in Murree and its surrounding areas, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
PDMA Director-General Irfan Ali Kathia said that Murree recorded three inches snowfall till yet and same will continue during next 24 hours.
He further said that snow is being removed from all main roads of the hill station. He said that skeleton staff and machinery is available to meet any emergency situation. He said that traffic on all roads of Murree is running smoothly.
Punjab Relief Commissioner Nabeel Javed said that the provincial government has established 13 facilitation centers at different locations. He advised travelers to review season situation and avoid to travel unnecessarily. He also asked them to take precautionary measures.
In case of any emergency travelers are advised to contact on Helpline 1129 immediately.
Earlier, rain again lashed different parts of the Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday night and Monday morning, turning the weather cold again.
In Punjab, rain was reported from Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Burewala, Vehari, Layyah, Nowshera Virkan, Talagang, Pattoki, Sher Garh, Sarai Mughal, Renala Khurd, Kharian, Manawala, Muridke, Sarai Alamgir and their surrounding areas.
Narowal and its suburbs received rain, accompanied by a cool breeze, which turned the weather cold again.
There was sunshine on Sunday due to which temperatures had risen in the city.
Likewise, intermittent rainfall in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad increased chill in the air.
