A Jirga of tribal elders, headed by Sardar Ghaus Bux Mehr, in Pir Jo Goth, Khairpur has slapped Rs27.5 million in fine on the parties to a conflict that resulted in the deaths of nine people, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The conflict between Narejo and Solangi tribes had started four months ago over the deaths that had occurred in a police encounter.
Representatives from both tribes appeared before the elders.
It was found out that nine persons from both sides had been killed in clashes.
While Solangi tribe was held responsible for the killings of four persons, it emerged that five persons died due to the firing by Narejo tribesmen.
Over Rs10 million was slapped in fine on the Narejo tribe, while Rs10 million was imposed on the Solangi clan.
The Jirga also made the two warring factions bound that there would be no further clashes between them in the future and that the tribe, which would start clashes first would be fined Rs5 million.
