Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that at least 500,000 houses will be given to homeless people in five years under ‘Apni Zameen, Apna Ghar’ scheme, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Addressing a ceremony in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz said Apni Zameen, Apni Ghar is the fulfillment of my dream.
Punjab Chief Minister said that the government has provided shelter about 35000 people in various cities of the province till now.
Previous governments have not built 33000 houses even in villages, Maryam Nawaz said.
The Chief Minister said free 3 marla plots will be given to homeless people in Punjab and in this regard initially 2000 plots will be distributed among the people who even do not have plot for construction of their own homes.
The Chief Minister said those who will be given free plots also can get loan for the construction of their homes.
