Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor and actor Anil Kapoor’s mother, Nirmal Kapoor, passed away in Mumbai on Friday at the age of 90. Showbiz figures, including her grandchildren Sonam Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Khushi Kapoor, have been spotted paying their solemn farewell to the family’s beloved matriarch.
According to the Kapoor family, the funeral of Nirmal Kapoor would be held at Vile Parle Crematorium, Pawan Hans, Mumbai, on Saturday.
As the grim news of Nirmal Kapoor’s death broke, several showbiz stars visited the Kapoor residence to offer their sincere condolences. There were seen Rani Mukerji, Anupam Kher, Javed Akhtar, Rajkumar Santoshi, Raveena Tandon, and Ananya Panday, Anupam Kher, Karan Johar, Rani Mukerji, and Farhan Akhtar and many others arriving at the place in morning for the final rites.
Among the first to reach were Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor, who looked visibly devastated. In a video uploaded by Pinkvilla, Sonam and the other stars can be seen, dressed in a simple white attire, appeared overwhelmed with emotions while standing along with her family members.
Actress Ananya Panday was also spotted bursting into tears while saying a final goodbye to her best buddy’s grandmother. Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana was also spotted amidst the crowd.
Boney Kapoor issued a statement after the death of his mother, which reads: “Passed away peacefully on the 2nd of May, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She lived a full and joyful life, leaving behind four devoted children, loving daughters-in-law, a caring son-in-law, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a lifetime of treasured memories. Her generous spirit and boundless love touched all who knew her. She will remain in our hearts – forever cherished, forever missed.
