Islami Jamiat Tulba leaders allegedly attacked and injured two security guards of Punjab University, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to Punjab University spokesperson, Jamiat members attacked security guards when they asked for their identification while checking at the gate.
Jamiat workers Zain Sarfraz, Ghazanfar Ali, Muhammad Anis, Shamrez Mumtaz, Zain Shaukat, Samiullah, Usman Ahmed and Hammad Raza attacked security guards, spokesperson said.
Spokesperson said security guards had asked Jamiat's Zohaib Fakhri and Nazim Hammad Raza for their identification at the gate.
Most of the Jamiat workers involved in the attack are expelled, university spokesperson said.
In the future, if an expelled Jamiat worker is seen, he will be handed over to police, spokesperson said.
Strict checking will continue as usual at the university gates, spokesperson added.
