A high-level meeting on Gaza peace hosted by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday in Istanbul, brought together senior diplomats from key Muslim countries who discussed the ceasefire and humanitarian situation in Gaza after peace plan.
According to spokesperson of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry Tahir Andarib, Gaz peace conference brought together the foreign ministers of Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, as well as representatives from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
Pakistan reiterated its principled position that Palestine should be established as an independent, viable and contiguous state, said Foreign Office Spokesperson. A Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
The meeting chaired by Turkish foreign minister Fidan was attended by Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and representatives from the UAE and Qatar.
According to diplomatic sources, the meeting discussed the latest developments in the Oct 10 ceasefire in Gaza and the humanitarian situation of the Palestinians living there.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said these leaders condemned Israeli ceasefire violations.
They called for Israel's withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian territories, and stressed the reconstruction of Gaza, Tahir Andrabi
Following that meeting, a joint statement stressed the need for a comprehensive plan for Gaza’s reconstruction based on an Arab League and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) initiative, along with security arrangements, international support for Palestinian leadership, and cooperation to help Palestinians rebuild their lives in Gaza.
The statement underlined the need to work out the details of a plan to ensure stability, stressed the importance of maintaining stability at holy sites in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and voiced support for reform efforts by the Palestinian Authority.
Earlier, Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to continue working together on the issue of Palestine, especially establishing sustainable peace in Gaza.
The understanding was reached during bilateral meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Tukrish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, on the sidelines of Arab-Islamic Foreign Ministers Meeting on Gaza in Istanbul. During the meeting, the ministers expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Türkiye bilateral relations and reaffirmed their shared commitment to further deepen cooperation across political, economic, and defence spheres. Both sides reaffirmed the strong bonds of brotherhood and mutual support that continue to underpin Pak-Türkiye relations and agreed to maintain close coordination on regional and international issues.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Monday arrived in Istanbul to participate in a meeting hosted by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan to discuss the recent developments in Gaza. Upon arrival, the DPM/FM was received by Director General MFA Protocol Ambassador Ahmet Cemil Miroglu and officials of Pakistan Embassy.
