The semi-finals of the 4th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) All-Pakistan Hockey Championship 2025 produced high drama at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday, as Pakistan Navy and Mari Energies booked their places in the grand final.
In the first semi-final, Pakistan Navy outclassed Pakistan Air Force with a commanding 4-0 win. Waleed opened the scoring, while Hanan Shahid struck twice and Waseem added another to seal a dominant performance. Hanan Shahid’s brace and relentless attacking play earned him the Man of the Match award.
The second semi-final delivered a thriller as Customs and Mari Energies battled to a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time. Abdul Qayyum netted for Customs, while Sufyan Khan levelled for Mari Energies. The clash went to penalties, where Mari Energies held their nerve to clinch a 4-3 victory. Ahmed Nadeem scored twice in the shootout, with Umer Mustafa and Arshad Liaqat adding one apiece. For Customs, Rana Sohail, Arbaz, and Hamza Fayyaz converted their chances.
Goalkeeper Abdullah Ishtiaq emerged as Mari Energies’ hero, pulling off crucial saves to secure his side’s place in the final and winning the Man of the Match award.
The grand final will be played on Saturday, October 4, at 3:00 pm at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore. The Chief of the Naval Staff will attend as the chief guest and present awards to the finalists.
