The Government of Balochistan on Wednesday imposed Section 144 in Naseerabad and Sibi divisions for the next 45 days keeping in view the prevailing monsoon rains and floods, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
After the imposition of Section 144, no group or individual will be allowed to cause loss to canals, drainage systems, or damage protective embankments.
Balochistan Home Department further said that no one will be allowed to construct or drill on the canals' embankments by using heavy machinery.
The department said that there are changes that floodwater will enter in Usta Muhammad, Sohbatpur, and Jaffarabad, so emergency measures are being adopted to tackle the issue, as these areas received severe losses in the 2010 and 2022 floods.
In the past, some renowned personalities turned the angle of floodwater to poor and low-lying areas just to save their own lands
This move will protect human lives, property, and important infrastructure. No one will try to establish shops on the embankments.
Strict action will be taken against those who try to establish shops, farmhouses and other illegal encroachments.
Boating and interference in government operations are also prohibited.
