Rawalpindi police have arrested a private academy principal for allegedly raping a female student under the pretext of marriage, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.
According to police, the accused, identified as Ziaur Rehman, reportedly lured the student to his academy under the guise of helping her prepare for examinations. Once there, he allegedly subjected her to sexual assault from time to time after issuing threats.
The First Information Report (FIR) stated that the victim later became pregnant.
The accused then allegedly took her to a private clinic for a medical check-up and provided her with medication, which ultimately led to the miscarriage of the pregnancy.
Following the victim’s complaint, police registered a case against the academy principal under relevant sections of the rape law and arrested the principal.
The police have confirmed that an investigation has been launched.
