Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday visited residence of leader of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Lala Asad Pathan in Sukkur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Provincial Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon, Mukesh Kumar Chawla.

Earlier, talking with media persons, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah assured the audience that no canals are being constructed on River Indus.

He denied signing of any summary by President Asif Ali Zardari in this respect.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that the federal government is functioning smoothly with the support of Pakistan People’s Party.

He assured that as long as the PPP exists, the canal would not be built. He lamented that some political parties, instead of opposing the canal, have taken to the streets to protest against the PPP.

Murad Ali Shah clarified that in July, only preliminary profiling covering a few hundred feet was conducted, which does not equate to the commencement of construction.
