The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) will resume sending skilled workers to Kuwait, state-run media reported on Monday. This development follows Kuwait’s decision earlier this year to lift a 19-year visa ban on Pakistani nationals.
In May, Kuwait officially ended its long-standing ban, allowing Pakistani citizens to apply for work, family, business, and tourist visas. The ban, initially imposed due to security concerns, also applied to nationals of Iran, Syria, and Afghanistan.
Each year, thousands of Pakistanis seek employment opportunities abroad, particularly in Gulf countries, Europe, and North America. The remittances they send home play a vital role in stabilizing Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves—especially critical amid the country’s ongoing economic challenges.
According to the state-run media, the Overseas Employment Corporation—an agency under the OP&HRD Ministry—will now facilitate the deployment of skilled Pakistani workers to Kuwait once again. "Pakistan has been exporting its skilled labor to Kuwait," the report stated.
Available job roles in Kuwait include warehouse supervisors (maximum age 35), requiring a diploma or bachelor’s degree and fluency in English. Applicants should also have strong customer service skills and experience in retail warehouses or logistics companies.
Additional positions include warehouse coordinators, warehousemen, carpenters, unskilled workers, assistant furniture workers, and drivers. The deadline for document submission is August 15, 2025.
Pakistan and Kuwait have maintained friendly diplomatic relations since establishing formal ties in October 1963, with cooperation across various sectors.
