Bollywood diva Ananya Panday's yoga instructor Anshuka Parwani shared a picture of Ananya on her Instagram stories showing how Ananya was practicing 'Trataka meditation', a practice that involves staring at a single point or object to achieve a state of deep meditation.
In the snap, the actress was seen sitting in front of a candle inside a dimly lit room with a side note reading, “Ananya Panday practicing the Trataka meditation. Focus, stillness, clarity.”
The word “Trataka" comes from Sanskrit and means “to gaze" or “to focus". It is an ancient practice t and is part of the spiritual traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism. It was originally used as a cleansing process for the mind and internal organs.
The burning flame of a candle works the best, as demonstrated by Ananya Panday. However, one can also choose to focus on other objects like a mountain, a flower, the rising sun or moon, a deity, or simply a dot on the wall. This type of meditation enhances concentration and mental clarity.
Benefits Of Trataka Meditation
Concentration: Trataka Meditation has the power to improve concentration and focus. By training your mind to stay focused on a single point, you receive better mental clarity and attention control leading to sharper cognitive function.
Reduced Stress: The technique is a natural antidote to stress. Controlled breathing and mindfulness work in harmony to calm the nervous system, fostering a deep sense of calm and serenity.
Vision: When you gaze deeply at one particular object, it strengthens the eye muscles offering better eye health and visual acuity. Increased blood flow to the eyes alleviates eye strain and nourishes the ocular tissues.
Self-Awareness: With external distractions fading away, you can embark on a journey of self-introspection and discovery, understanding more about yourself and fostering personal growth.
Balanced Nervous System: Since this meditation quietens the mind, it helps to maintain balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.
On the professional front, the actress made her debut with Karan Johar’s “Student of the Year 2" in 2019. She was last seen in “Call Me Bae" and “CTRL," both of which were OTT releases.
She will next be seen sharing screen space with Lakshya Lalwani, who made his film debut with “Kill", in the upcoming romantic movie “Chand Mera Dil".
