A district court in Islamabad on Wednesday acquitted former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in an alleged fraud case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Judicial Magistrate Shaista Khan Kundi announced the verdict at the District and Sessions Courts after hearing arguments from both sides.
The complainant, Malik Muhammad Zaheer, appeared before the court during the proceedings.
Fawad Chaudhry had been indicted in the case a day earlier. The court had reserved its decision after calling for arguments regarding the prosecution’s witnesses and the accused’s plea for acquittal.
Following the hearing, the court acquitted Fawad Chaudhry of the charges, bringing an end to the case registered against him at Aabpara police station.
