The federal government has withdrawn the notification appointing Riffat Mukhtar as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Interior on the directives of the Prime Minister, a day after the decision was made.
Riffat Mukhtar, a Grade 21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, had been appointed to the post on Tuesday. However, the notification of his appointment was withdrawn on Wednesday.
Earlier, the federal government had removed Riffat Mukhtar from her position as Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
No official reason has been provided for the withdrawal of the notification.
