President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Pakistan from February 5 to 6 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi announced on Monday.
Briefing the media, the spokesperson said the Uzbek president will lead a high-level delegation, including senior cabinet members and prominent business leaders, underscoring the importance both countries attach to strengthening bilateral ties.
During his stay, President Mirziyoyev will call on the President of Pakistan and hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Uzbek leader is also scheduled to address the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum, aimed at enhancing commercial and investment cooperation between the two sides.
According to the Foreign Office, the talks will comprehensively review all aspects of bilateral relations. Both sides will explore new opportunities to further expand cooperation in key areas such as trade, energy, defense, education, people-to-people contacts, and regional coordination.
The spokesperson noted that this will be President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s second visit to Pakistan, reflecting the steady upward trajectory of Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations. He said the visit highlights the growing closeness and brotherly ties between the two countries.
Tahir Hussain Andrabi added that relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan are rooted in a shared history, common faith, and a mutual vision of peace and prosperity in Central and South Asia, and the upcoming visit is expected to further strengthen these bonds.
