Cold weather has intensified in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore following a noticeable drop in temperatures, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
According to the report, temperatures in Islamabad fell by up to six degrees Celsius, accompanied by cold winds blowing at a speed of around seven metres per hour.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department said there was no likelihood of rainfall in the federal capital, where the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 19 degrees Celsius.
Humidity levels in Islamabad were recorded at approximately 50 per cent.
Meanwhile, Karachi continued to struggle with poor air quality, retaining its position as the sixth most polluted city in the world.
The Met Office said the minimum temperature in the port city is expected to remain between 24 and 25 degrees Celsius, while humidity levels surged to nearly 90 per cent due to moist winds blowing from the northeast.
Light winds persisted across Karachi, adding to discomfort amid deteriorating air quality.
The city’s Air Quality Index was recorded at 180, placing it in the “unhealthy” category for particulate matter.
Health experts have advised citizens, particularly children, the elderly and those with respiratory conditions, to limit outdoor activities and take precautionary measures as cold weather and pollution continue to affect daily life.
