Renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Fazlur Rahim Ashrafi, the Mohtamim (administrator) of Jamia Ashrafia Lahore, passed away on Sunday after a prolonged illness, 24NewsHD TV reported.
According to family sources, the late Maulana had been unwell for a considerable period and was receiving medical treatment.
His funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow (Monday) at 2 pm at Jamia Ashrafia Lahore.
Maulana Fazlur Rahim Ashrafi served as the Mohtamim of Jamia Ashrafia, one of Pakistan’s largest and most influential religious institutions, and played a key role in promoting religious education and scholarly traditions.
His death has been widely mourned across religious, academic, and social circles, who remember him as a prominent figure in Pakistan’s religious education sector.
