After nearly a decade of ups and downs, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have officially confirmed their split, putting an end to weeks of swirling rumours about the state of their relationship.
The couple, who began dating in 2016 and got engaged on Valentine's Day 2019, share a four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. Representatives for the pair told DailyMail.com that the two have been “shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is and always will be raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect,” the statement read.
The news follows a series of clues that hinted at trouble in paradise. Orlando, 48, recently attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's lavish wedding in Venice solo, while Katy, 39, remained in Australia for her Lifetimes Tour. The actor also posted cryptic messages on Instagram about “loneliness” and “darkness,” including quotes by Carl Jung.
Meanwhile, the pop superstar was visibly emotional during her latest shows, even breaking down in tears while addressing fans in Adelaide: “Thank you, Australia, for always being there for me,” she said, forming a heart with her hands.
Sources say the split has been in motion for months. “Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,” an insider told Us Weekly. “The separation has not been contentious. Katy is, of course, upset but relieved to not have to go through another divorce.”
Perry was previously married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012.
