An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday declared Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Hammad Azhar and Rana Shahbaz as proclaimed offenders in connection with the October 2024 protests and riots in Lahore.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, during hearing of the two cases filed at Islampura Police Station and Shafiqabad Police Station, Investigation Officer (IO) prayed the court to declare both leaders of PTI as proclaimed offenders over their continued failure to appear in the court.
Police in their petition also stated that advertisements were published in the national dailies, but both accused willfully went into hiding.
ATC Administrative Judge Ali Gul also issued permanent arrest warrants for PTI leaders Hammad Azhar and Rana Shahbaz.
