Railway traffic was restored within hours after five bogies of a freight train derailed near Mirpur Mathelo Railway Station in Ghotki on Friday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV.

Sources said that the up and down railway track was badly damaged as five bogies were separated from the train’s engine before derailment. The train was going to Karachi from Punjab.

After the suspension of railway traffic, different passenger trains were stopped at various stations.

Railway officials said that a relief train was sent from Rohri, and after that the repair work will be started to restore the railway traffic.

Railway officials expressed the hope that normal railway traffic will be restored within a few hours.

Due to severe hot weather, women, elderly persons, and children were facing a lot of difficulties in stuck trains.

Later, the damaged track near Mirpur Mathelo Railway Station was restored after completion of the repair work.

All the up and down trains were green-signalled after the track was declared fit for traffic.
